Sponsoring Adoption Fees

Reducing adoption fees is a fantastic way to help animals find their forever homes! At South Camden Animal Rescue, adoption fees serve two important purposes: they help us cover the costs of caring for each animal (did you know it costs about $15 per day per animal?) and they demonstrate a financial commitment from the adopter. However, we believe that the joy of pet ownership should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. That's why we offer reduced adoption fees for certain animals, making it easier for them to find loving homes.

If you're interested in sponsoring the adoption fee for a pet, please contact our Adoptions team. We can discuss which animals would benefit most, based on factors like their length of stay or special needs. For example, bonded pairs are excellent candidates for sponsorship because adopting two pets at once can be more expensive. On the other hand, high-profile pets usually find homes quickly, so sponsorship may not be necessary for them.

Sponsoring a pet is also a wonderful way to honor someone special. It helps a specific animal find a home and shows that you made a meaningful contribution in their name. It's like gifting a pet without actually gifting one!

Sponsor Training Scholarships

South Camden Animal Rescue is excited to introduce a new initiative to help homeless dogs find their forever homes! We've noticed that dogs with behavioral challenges often struggle to get adopted. Contrary to popular belief, it's not the senior dogs or those with special needs that have the hardest time finding homes, but rather the adolescent dogs who have outgrown their puppy phase yet still retain high energy levels.

To address this, we’ve launched a scholarship program that funds a 4-week training and obedience class for selected shelter dogs. Chosen by our Behavioral Team, these dogs will attend the class with their new families after adoption. This program boosts the adopter’s confidence in handling a dog needing some training, strengthens the bond between the new family and their pet, helps the dog learn essential skills and manners, and provides an enjoyable, engaging activity for both the dog and their family.

Our goal with this program is to reduce the length of stay for high-energy dogs and decrease shelter return rates. By offering this training, we hope to ensure that more dogs find loving, permanent homes and that their new families feel well-equipped to support them.
